World’s largest clock started ticking, I’m so proud of Saudi Arabia

I couldn’t be prouder of Saudi Arabia, even if you dare me to.
Saudi Arabia has built the world’s largest clock, the dial of which is 43×43 meters and is 5 times the dial of Big Ben, on what is to be the 2nd tallest building in the world (after Burj Khalifa).
The clock is located in Macca Al-Mokarrama, and overlooks the Holy Ka3ba. It can be seen from 3o kilometers away, and stands at a height of more than 500 meters (600+ upon completion).
Saudi Arabia started a 3 month trial run of the clock, and picked the 1st of Ramadan as the most perfect day to start the giant clock. I can’t describe this event better than MSNBC‘s commentary:
“Muslim pilgrims pray inside the Grand Mosque, with the Mecca Clock lit up in the background, on the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan in Mecca, Wednesday, Aug. 11. The giant clock on a skyscraper in Islam’s holiest city Mecca began ticking on Wednesday at the start of the fasting month of Ramadan, amid hopes by Saudi Arabia it will become the Muslim world’s official timekeeper.”
I’m so proud of Saudi Arabia.
