A-listers Ryan Reynolds, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and David Gandy were drafted in to front the retail giant’s Autumn advertisement campaigns. High Street Kensington’s store was the first to get a revamp. It reopened to the public yesterday and is joined by Westfield Stratford’s brand new shop, which opens today.
The revamp is part of a three year plan, and will be rolled out into 14 more pilot stores across the UK over the next month. By March 2012, a further 80 stores will have been refitted, and by mid 2013, all 703 M&S outlets, including the Simply Foods, will have gone through a facelift.
Fresh pasta is made on demand in the white tiled deli, where Iberico ham hangs above stainless steel counters and big windows display an impressive variety of salads, cheeses, hams and pasta sauces. Even the staff has been upgraded. Foodhall workers have been recruited from Harrods, Ottolenghi and Carluccio to man the deli counters. [Source]
