Our Breakfast at Haleeb & Hail Mubarakiya

Yesterday I wanted to have a traditional breakfast and wanted to go to Mubarakiya, to have a good meal and enjoy the weather outside. We settled on Haleeb & Hail in Al-Saqran Complex, behind Gulf Bank’s head office building, on the outskirts of traditional Mubarakiya.

For drinks, we ordered Saffron infused hot milk, which was beyond amazing. And since it’s my first time in Haleeb & Hail, we ordered whatever we thought sounded delicious on the menu. So we ended up with Red Eggs (that’s a tomato omelet), Egg with sweet noodles (balalee6), Irani bread stuffed with glass cheese and honey, and Irani bread stuffed with Halloumi\salad.

The food tasted good, not great, but very good. I would definitely recommend the egg dishes over the Irani bread, only because the bread was a little dry and tasted more like saj than Irani bread. That said, I would absolutely recommend the glass cheese and honey stuffed Irani bread over the halloumi one.

Overall, our experience was a very good one. We loved the safron hot milk, the egg dishes, the friendly service, and the beautiful setting. Our bill was close to KD 8, which was very reasonable considering the large amount of food we ordered.

Haleeb & Hail is an excellent choice for a traditional Kuwaiti breakfast, especially if you don’t like the street crowds of regular Mubarakiya. They also have hot tea pots over coal, which is great with this cold weather we’re having these days.

I know I’m late in trying this place out, but I’m glad I did. Here’s a map to the place, just in case you need one.
