More About the Kuwaiti Flash Mob

Yesterday, I posted about the Kuwaiti flash mob that happened in the avenues. I personally criticised the absence of girls in this work, and it turns out, I wasn’t alone in this opinion.
While flipping through today’s Al-Qabas, I read this lovely article by Kuwaiti [link] mentioning the flash mob, and Zaydoun‘s opinion of it. Glad to know I wasn’t alone in finding the work silly and slightly backward.
I said this yesterday, if I was in the mood, I would file a suit against the flash mob, for clearly violating the 13 sacred public parties’ rules. What we saw was public dancing, and I doubt they had a permit to do that in such a public space. And even if they did have a permit, I clearly saw a few bystanders joining in on the dancing at the end. They, at least, are in violation of the 13 rules.
With the way Islamist extremists thrive in our closed up community, the way we’re forced to move and act in such a tight (and ridiculous) space; I’m saddened that the makers of this flash mob chose to indulge the extremiests’ version of sacred virtues, rather than chose to indulge our more beautiful version of true Kuwaiti patriotic spirit.
