The New First Ring Rd Speed Cameras Starts Working Next Week

The new speed cameras  on the 1st Rind Rd. will start operating this June 15th.

You have to be careful of these new Point-to-Point cameras, because they calculate your average speed between the cameras, not like the old cameras which just captured your speed as you specifically pass it.

The old cameras allowed you to speed as much as you wanted, as long as you slowdown before you reach them. But with these new cameras, you have to drive below the speed limit THE WHOLE time you’re in between them. Otherwise, they’ll just catch and snap you.

In more detail, the process involves one of the cameras taking pictures of every single car that passes by it, not just of offending cars. It’s only when a car approaches the second camera too soon that a new picture of the speeding car is taken again.

Most of us don’t speed, so we don’t have to worry. But, if you happen to be one of these people who usually speed and slow down at the speed cameras, well you can stop doing that now. Just drive at a fixed and below the speed limit speed, or you’ll b paying a lot of money in tickets and fines. And remember the 1st RR cameras will be covering a stretch of three kilometers.

ذكر اللواء الزعابي أن هذا النظام يستخدم لرصد تجاوزات حدود السرعة على الطرق، ومراقبته بأطوال مختلفة لضمان التزام قائدي المركبــات بحــدود الســرعة على طول مسافة القطاع، وفي الموقع المستخدم حاليا على الدائري الأول، يتم مراقبة قطاع بطول 3 كيلو مترات، خلافا للكاميرات التقليدية التي ترصد المخالفات في موقع الكاميرا فقط.

وألمح إلى أن طريقة عمل النظام تتحقق بتركيب كاميرات على بداية القطاع، وكاميرات أخرى في نهايته، بحيث يتم تسجيل لوحات جميع المركبات المارة على القطاع، وتسجيل الزمن الذي استغرقته المركبة لقطع المسافة، واستنادا إلى أن الزمن اللازم لقطع المسافة في حالة الالتزام بحدود السرعة معروف من خلال الحسابات الفنية، فإن قطع المسافة في مدة أقل من المحددة يكون دليلا على تجاوز حدود السرعة، وعليه يتم تسجيل مخالفة تجاوز حدود السرعة على المركبة المخالفة.

وأضاف أن هذا النظام يتميز بضبط السرعة على طول امتداد الطريق المراقب، وليس فقط في الأماكن التي توجد بها الكاميرات التقليدية الحالية التي يتم الالتزام بحدود السرعة فقط في أماكن تواجدها
