Sh. Sabah orders the privatisation of Kuwait Airways الأمير يصدر ٤ مراسيم ضرورة

Sh. Sabah Al-Ahmad issued orders for four new urgent laws in the absence of Parliament, through the powers accorded to him by the Kuwaiti constitution. The four laws are:

  • The Privatisation of Kuwait Airways (great decision).
  • Amending sporting laws.
  • The approval of the country’s general budget (wow: 21.5 billion KD, $77 billion).
  • A new national unity and anti-hate law (very much needed).

Whats your source for the first law? Didnt see it yesterday on the newspapers.

It’s in today’s papers. Almost all papers mentioned these 4, plus 3 more on the way in the coming days/weeks.

hopefully he issues one cancelling parliament indefinitely.

I don’t know what your problem is with the parliament, but you can’t go around asking ridiculous stuff like canceling it permanently.

Actually, I would like to know more about why you think that would be better? I know elmajlis was terrible and horrible, and had lost the track to development and respect of people’s freedoms. But imo, that is just the result voting for the wrong kind of people.

You can’t expect respect or progress from a parliament that has people the likes of nabeel, jwaihel, hayef, or tabtaba2i. I don’t blame the parliament as an institution, i believe in its existence no matter what. But i do blame the kuwaiti people for voting wrong.

whats my issue with the parliament? the fact that they haven’t accomplished anything ever. They slow down the economy of the country, they’ve brought us to a standstill. Instead of pushing us forward, so called opposition bloc bickers and fights and makes a political charade trying to sway the impressionable youth to their side.

They delayed the privatization of Kuwait airways, and their receiving new planes..
    they delayed the national budget.
we’ve had to make an anti hate law because of the nonsense they pull.

They are dividing the country. Furthermore, they refuse to amend the electoral laws which alienates a majority of the population, and heavily weights the other. Which funnily enough is just to their benefit. They complain about corruption, when they themselves are the most corrupt. They want to make blocs to ensure that they run the country and ruin it more.

Since it was dissolved this time, we have 4 decrees that are moving us in the right direction, with hopefully many more to come. These 4 decrees have made more progress in this country then what the parliament has accomplished in the last few years.

you make a great point when you say that the people voted for the wrong kind of people. Well, as the electoral system stands, well get more of the same due to the poor distribution of the areas and the number of votes for each person.

The opposition bloc wants none of this to change, so that they will get a majority again, and then we will have those who elect more morons to counter act the opposition .

How can we have better people with a broken voting system? we simply cant, and thats why the opposition wants to keep the system the same. To halt our progress under their charades and watch.

    I think ill pass.

  5. bob says:

also when you mention the name of some of the opposition members you have to remember that they are hidden bloc. They move together. These individuals are just puppets and front men for their larger schemes
