Armani Cafe is now open in Prestige phase at the Avenues Mall. From what I’ve heard, they’ll have the same menu as their Dubai branch, which is great news.
I’ve posted before about Armani Cafe of Emirates Mall, and how their food is great and delicious. I would say it’s up there with the best food places in the whole Gulf region. So if they really are serving the same menu here in Kuwait, then that is just awesome. I recommend you try their Veal Milanese, Truffle pizza, and Truffle Bruschetta.

While passing by TSC Hawalli this evening, I noticed that they’ll be opening a few new stores. There’s a whole new first floor, complete with escalators and an elevator. The new shops I saw so far were:
Some shops will open sooner than others, but I forgot to ask about opening dates. I’m glad to see more shops at TSC Hawalli; it’s big and airy, has loads of parking, got easy entrance\exit, and enjoys a great location at the outskirts of Hawalli.

Caribou has a new flavor for winter, and it’s Salted Caramel. There are two new drinks, a Budino and a Mocha.
- NEW Salted Caramel Budino: Sweet cream and espresso with rich caramel and a light sprinkle of salt topped with a caramel mousse
- NEW Salted Caramel Mocha: Rich chocolate balanced with the sweetness of caramel and a pleasant sprinkle of salt topped with a caramel mousse [link]
I tried the Budino, but despite its attractive description, I didn’t like it. The salted caramel sprinkles were tasty, but other than that, the coffee was kinda bad. I wished I ordered a regular caramel latte instead.
Next time, I’m going to try the new mocha. It might turn out to be better. They also had a mint hot chocolate drink, which sounds really delicious, but I’m not sure if it’s a new drink or not.

Al-Manshar Mall in Fahaheel has officially closed down. All of its shops and restaurants, including Haagen Dazs & Johnny Rockets, have closed. A new mall will be built in its place, and that will probably take 4-5 years to complete. It’s a damn shame because Al-Manshar was one of the prettiest malls in Kuwait, had lots of character and style. It was originally renovated on top of the old 1060’s shops that originally existed there, that’s what gave it its unique old style.
Anyways, it will be demolished soon. And until the new mall is built and open, you can use the adjacent Al-Kout mall for fun and pleasure whenever you’re in Fahaheel. Al-Kout is another very pretty mall, and its water fountains and water-front cafes are absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The mall itself is rather quite during weekdays, which is a fresh change from the hustle and bustle of the Avenues and the 360 malls.
Some of the water front cafes in Al-Kout are Paul, Costa, Caribou, two italian sandwich shops, 2 other cafes, Marble Slab, and Red Mango. Inside the mall you’ve got KNCC cinema, Mango and Zara, The Athelet’s Foot, a food court, kids shops, lingerie shops, an iCity or Digits (Apple) store, and a Sultan Center Supermarket.
I’ve been going there a lot this past week, because my cat is currently being treated in the International Veterinary Hospital in Wafra. Al-Kout is the closest place to sit down for a bite to eat or to have a cup of coffee, before I have to head back to the vet place again.
The weather in Kuwait will only get better from now on,which makes visiting Al-Kout and sitting outdoors a pure hidden and quite pleasure.

I can’t believe it took them this long to have these. Both are on the ground floor. The cafe is at the surgical emergency entrance, and the k-net machine is opposite the emergency information desk.

This is a new summer drink from Starbucks: Lime Mint Coconut Frappucino, which is a blended frozen juice drink. It looks yummy and refreshing, and just right for summertime.
I haven’t tried it yet, because Starbucks was already closed when I went into Pinkberry-Jabriya. But I would think it’s a good drink, especially for anyone who likes juices and blended juices, and is a lighter change from the usual cream\coffee based frappas.

Me and my friends had lunch at Choco Cafe in Hotel Missoni. The cafe is on the hotel’s ground floor and is very spacious, with a beautiful view of the Cactus garden outside.
The cafe is very spacious and airy. It’s full of light and the layout provides a good sense of privacy. The tables are also somewhat spread apart to add to that sense of privacy. They have a few seating alternatives to suit everyones needs. They’ve got sofas, regular tables and chairs, and a nice bar stool area.
They provide you with a printed menu in addition to an iPad menu (which holds pictures and details of each dish and drink, each on its individual page). As I do with every new place I try, I order everything that I think is delicious to me on the menu. So we ended up with a Rocca salad, a bacon white sauce penne pasta, two juice cocktails, a hot chocolate concussion, a chicken avocado focaccia, and two desserts.
I don’t know why I haven’t been to this place before. I’m now kicking myself for avoiding such a great place. It suits my taste very well, it’s both quite and elegant and serves great food. I don’t know what our bill was, because one of my friends picked up the tap. But I think the prices were very reasonable, considering the elegance of the food and the quality of its food.
I really recommend you try Choco Cafe at Hotel Missoni.

While I was at Gloria Jeans Cafe the other day, I noticed this cute note on the notice board. The guy who wrote it really went out of his way to promote Gloria Jeans’ drinks and atmosphere. He then took a comedic detour, which just added more hilarity to what he wrote. I found the whole note very amusing.
