One Legged Wrestler Wins Major Competition

Anthony Rubles, from Arizona State University, has one the 125 lbs NCAA Wrestling championship. That’s the American national college championship, like one of the most important amateur tittles in the States,  beating all other healthy athletes from all 50 states for the title.

Reading stories like this makes me feel sorry for the handicapped people in Kuwait and how they’re being treated by society.

Just look at people who park in handicapped parking spots. They do it without any sense or feeling of guilt or shame. Shame on them I say.

If we don’t even respect their need for close parking spots, how are they expected to excel and prosper? 7aram walah. Read Robles’ story for some amazing inspiration.

Allah yr7am Nejoud Boodai

Yesterday, Nejoud Boodai, one my friends from since we were teenagers, passed away. Allah yr7am Nejoud w eygamid roo7ha elyana inshalla.

We first met in high school, then we continued to London; where she studied fashion and I studied business at the same college.

She has always been sweet, friendly, soft, and caring. I’m sure a lot of people are very sad for losing her, but at least we are comforted in knowing she is not suffering from her terminal illness anymore.

Nejoud was a successful business woman. She opened up her first fashion shop right after college in the fashionable Beauchamp Place in London. And as a pioneering Kuwaiti fashion designer, way before it became a habba in kuwait, she successfully started designing uniforms for Kuwait Airways and the Kuwaiti Army. She also has a very trendy shop in Salhiya Complex, called N.B. Boutique. You can read more about N.B. Boutique at confashions here, here, and here.

And again, way ahead of other in kuwait, she started JuJu’s cupcake bakery in Fanar Complex. She also has a very stylish flower shop called Flower Story in 360° Mall.

Nejoud was as active as she was sweet. And there is a huge truth about the old saying “Mayroo7 elah elzain”. Allah yr7umich ya Nejoud. You will always be in our prayers.

AIU London, You Rock, You Simply Rock!!

Like I mentioned in a previous post, I had requested my college transcripts from 2 schools in London. I made the request via email on monday morning, 6.30 am Kuwait time. Guess what, the DHL guy delivered my transcripts from the American Intercontinental University, london, an hour ago, i.e. 7.30 am Kuwait time.

Wow, how quick was that. Let me remind you, the campus is in London, England; not Mishref\Salmniya Kuwait (enter extreme sarcasm here).

Wow is all I have to say. I knew AIU is my favorite school for a reason. They’re just that good. Like I said, AIU, YOU ROCK!!

ACL, sorry, AIU-London Rocks

Yesterday morning I tried ordering copies of my transcripts from both the American Intercontinental University in London and Richmond the American International University, also in London.

Well AIU, which used to called ACL meaning the American College (cool) in London back in the hay day, is a really really bad school. As in it’s a party school in the heart of London, and nothing more academically speaking. While Richmond is haled to be a school worthy of of US universities’ reputation levels.

These is just a meaningless tidbits of information. What’s important, and also ironic, is that AIU have already mailed my transcripts via DHL, while Richmoond are still under the snooze button.

Come on Richmond. You say you’re better than AIU,  then yala prove it. Wake up NOW.
