You can never get bored with Al-Watan newspaper

I have to admit something. I don’t get Al-Watan newspaper at home, for many many reasons excluding its’ owner’s reputation. But I still check it out everyday online. And it never ceases to amaze me how it dramatically embellish headlines.

This is a perfect example. We are all over the moon with 3eed being finally here, BUt here is Al-Watan twisting its dramatic spice into current events.

It’s still a very enjoyable newspaper, especially with its ads.

3eed prayer from el7aram elsahreef on MBC 1

MBC 1 is airing 3eed prayer men el7aram el-sahreef… The channel is now playing Mohammad Abdo’s La Ilaha ellah ellah nasheed, written by my favorite Islamic Sh. 3ayeth Al-Qarrani.

All I can say is it’s powerful.

Since I’m not in kuwait and don’t even know where to go here in bahrain, I decided to watch it on MBC 1.

It’s starting on MBC 1, go watch it if you’re not going to a mosque like me.

باركو يا حباب لعوض الدوخي

This is 3awath Al-Do5ee’s Bariokoo ya 7bab… I had mistakengly thought el3eed hal ehlalah was his song, but thx to Zaid from Kaifan5, I know know it’s for Ma7moud Al-Kuwaiti. Thank you Zaid, that was embarrassing to tell you the truth.

I love both songs, and I do hope you enjoy both of them for 3eed.

160,000 people go to Lailat Al-Qadar 27th Ramadan at Grand Mosque Kuwait

More than 160,000 people prayed last night at Kuwait’s Grand Mosque. The night of 27th of Ramadan is very special, it is said to be Lailat AlQadar, that is better than a 1,000 months.

Allah eytaqabal menhum w mennah inshalla.

lol, I’m sorry if I’m offending anyone, but this is funny

Miss USA, Rima Fakih doesn’t have a problem posing for cameras topless. Her only condition is that she gets photographed from the back only. According to her, she doesn’t allow pictures from the front (and I’m quoting her here):

“I’m Arab, I’m Muslim, and I didn’t want to disappoint many people.”

As an Arab and a Muslim my self, I can appreciate this statement. At least she’s speaking her mind. Besides, if she’s living in the States, then this might be a good way to blend in smoothly. Kudus for her for at least worrying about us.

Ramadan ad I like

I like this ad for orphan sponsoring, it made me feel really bad about neglecting them. Orphan sponsorship only costs KD 10-15 a month, but not through this ad, through International Islamic Charitable Organization. Can you afford it? Will you do it?

Older posts about ads I like can be here and here.

Arabs’ Rich and Historical Sexually filled Literature

Kitab Al-Aghani or Book of Songs is a Historical Compilation of Arabic poems and songs dating from the pre-Islam days to the days of Amawiya Khilafa. It took Abi Al-Faraj Al-Asfahani more than 50 years to compile, in a huge book of approx. 10,000 pages.

If you ever want to read a promscious book, that you never ever thought would be written by an arab, let alone an ancient arab at the beginnings of Islam; then have a crack at this book. It’ll make you proud of your heritage.

Kitab Al-Aghani is a Classic Arabian piece of Literature history, one to be put on par with 1000 and one Arabian Nights.

As I write this, I have yet to read the book or find its ebook version on the web. This makes me want to cry.
