A\C Milan legends coming to Al-Roudhan’s Final

Al-Roudhan organizers have promised another surprise for the final day. They already gave us A\C Milan legends, president of Inter Milan, legendary goalkeeper Toldo, and the cups and sheilds of 4 of the top world and European competitions. What more can they offer?

I’m really starting to wonder what their surprise might be.

Great offer at Atlantis Dubai

A room in Atlantis for KD 105 per night is a great offer. I don’t know what’s happening with Dubai, but even the Jumeirah Beach Hotel has amazing offers. Remember when I wrote a post that rooms start from KD 80 including taxes and breakfast.

I love Dubai, I can love it double and take up both offers. Hmm, what a great idea.

API login and authentication failure and log in error for Twitter on BB and iPhone

Are you getting an API login error messages and authentication failure with Twitter? You’re not the only one, and nothing wrong with your twitter account, and the answer is very simple.

Twitter have changed the login method for mobile devices starting Sept 1; on the iPhone, iTouch, Android, BB, iPad starting Sep 1st.  Twitter used to allow 3rd party applicatios to store username and password externally, but they changed that policy, all info will remain with twitter all the time. Applications had plenty of time to adjust, and most work just fine. My tough luck got me Twitterific and the BB’s twitter T, one of the few that didn’t work.

  • If you try to login, it won’t let you. You’ll get the message in the pic above.
  • Every application has to be authorized by you. Problem is the settings tab doesn’t have any applications to approve anyway, even if you wanted to.

After spending a couple of hours searching and reading, I got to the solution:

  • All you have to do is update the applications. It works on all Apple products and BB.
  • Problem is the App store will tell you everything is up to date, so you will have to go around it. What you do on the iPod and iPad is just delete whatever twitter application you’re using, then just install it again from the App store. That’s it.
  • As for the BB, it’s takes just a little bit longer. But really, all you have to do is download the twitter application again, using the browser on your BB. Install it, it’ll ask you if it’s OK to replace the old version. Click OK, restart the phone, and your done.
  • The same principle should apply to Android phones, but I wouldn’t know, I don’t have an Android.

I got everything to work again, but it did give me a much un-needed headache before I figured it out. Here’s Twitter’s support page, it explains the problem, but doesn’t help much with the solution. Problem name is OAuth or something terrible like that. I’m just glad everything works again.

Now if only someone can tell me where the hell is the New Lulu Hyper market is? Tweet me here. I really want to go there!

Sheikh Naser Al-Mohammad’s interview on Kuwait TV

Our Prime Minister, Sh. Nasser, went on Kuwait TV and made his first ever public interview.

  • This interview is very important; because it’s one of the few times that a PM does a public interview in Kuwait, and because it gives Sh. Nasser a clear chance to explain his point of view directly to Kuwaitis.
  • The public opinion of Sh. Nasser is that he’s weak and is easily steered and guided away, that he tends to revert to courts to deal with his opposers rather than face their accusations, and that he doesn’t have the capabilities to run the government. All of these have all added to Kuwaitis’ frustration with Sh. Nasser, and to doubt his ability to run the government in these sensitive times.
  • In his interview, he managed to erase a lot of these negative opinions of him.
  • Whether you agree or not with Sh. Nasser; you can’t neglect the confidence he showed, the respectful and strong opinions he had about the constitution and democracy, or his clear intelligence.
  • Have a look at a few articles and editorials I picked up from the local papers this morning to get a feeling of how strong the political arena is reacting to Sh. Nasser’s interview.

Good luck Sh. Nasser, and  thank you for your interview. You have once again proved that Kuwait is truly ahead of others in our region. We can all be proud that we still have an open, free, and safe country; in which can question anyone without fear.

You can watch part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4 of his interview.

Kanye West’s apology to Swift not so swift

Kanye West got  himself drunk at last year’s VMA awards, and took the microphone out of Taylor Swift’s hands and blabbered something about Beyonce deserving the award instead of swift. That was shocking to see, since Taylor is such a sweet little thing.

Now it seems that Kanye regrets what he did, and has apologized to Swift via his Twitter account.

I guess late, even the very late, is better than never.
